Provide you with a guide to the best HDMI cables!
What is an HDMI cable? HDMI cables are used to send video and sound from a host device to a display. They can be used in home theaters, projectors, TV boxes, DVD players, computers, PS5, digital audio and TVs, etc. Therefore, not all HDMI cables are the same.
HDMI1.4&2.0&2.1
HDMI cables have been released for more than 20 years, from the initial HDMI1.1 to the current HDMI2.1. The larger the number, the newer the HDMI version, the more mature the technology, and the more powerful the function. Most of the popular ones on the market today are HDMI1.4, HDMI2.0 and HDMI2.1. Next, we will introduce the functional differences of these versions.
1. HDMI1.4 was released in 2009, adding HDMI 100M Ethernet channel, allowing Internet-based HDMI devices to share Internet access with other HDMI devices without the need to connect another Ethernet cable. Added ARC (Audio return channel), allowing high-definition TVs to transmit audio signals independently to A/V amplifiers and receivers and audio equipment through HDMI cables. At this time, HDMI1.4 supports up to 4K/30HZ.
2. After four years of development, HDMI2.0 was born. It is currently the most widely used cable, supporting 21:9 aspect ratio, 32 channels, 4 audio streams, 18Gbit/s transmission bandwidth, CEC extension, dual screen, dynamic automatic sound and picture synchronization, and high dynamic range imaging (HDR) for PS4 and most 4K TVs. HDMI2.0 supports 4K ultra-high definition and is backward compatible with HDMI 1.4. It is the most common connection type in broadcast studios, corporate conference rooms, digital signage, control rooms and classrooms.
3.HDMI2.1 is the latest version of HDMI, which has the function of 8K/60Hz, 48Gbps bandwidth, supports VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) and eARC (enhanced Audio Return Channel), and can be used to transmit 8K video and audio signals.HDMI 2.1 is now implemented in game consoles such as Xbox Series X and PS5, as well as some high-end AVRs and TVs. In addition, to perfectly use the HDMI 2.1 function, your device also needs to support the HDMI 2.1 standard.
Here are the detailed specification differences:

How Should I Choose The Right HDMI Cable For Me?
Why sometimes I bought an 8K/4K HDMI cable, but the TV cannot display or achieve the 8K/4K effect?
First of all, it depends on your device. See what version of HDMI cable your device supports. The device supports HDMI2.1 at most. It is best to choose HDMI2.1 cable, which has a larger picture, faster transmission speed and better entertainment experience. When the device supports HDMI2.0, then buy a matching HDMI2.0 cable. Of course, you can also buy HDMI2.1 cable. HDMI2.1 is completely backward compatible with HDMI2.0. If the HDMI version you buy is lower than the device version number, it may not be used.
Secondly, see if there is an HDMI logo on the HDMI cable. HDMI cables without logos are inferior products and have not passed the test. Please make sure to buy cables with HDMI logos.
HDMI Fiber Optic Cable VS Copper HDMI Cable
Fiber-optic active HDMI (AOC) cables are primarily designed for long-distance use. When you need an HDMI cable longer than 16 feet (5 meters), it is recommended to choose a fiber-optic cable.
Fiber-optic active HDMI cables add optoelectronic module chips, which use light to transmit data, allowing data to be transmitted farther and faster without signal loss. Because the chip transmits signals in one direction, we will engrave a logo on the cable. The source end is connected to the host and the display end is connected to the monitor, so the direction must be distinguished during use. If the direction is reversed, it will not work. Active cables are mainly used in engineering industries, such as pipelines or wiring.
The main material of HDMI cables is copper, so there is no need to distinguish the direction. HDMI copper wires are generally used within 16 feet (5 meters), and are more used in scenes where devices such as TVs, computers, PS5, etc. are close to the monitor. It is convenient, quick, and simple to install. HDMI cables are cheaper than active cables. Most cables purchased for home use are HDMI cables.
